The flour used is derived from yam. Yam flour is powdered dried yam tuber widely used in food preparation.
Description
Typically white, the flour is commonly used in African dishes, such as Amala.
Some factors affect the final output of the quality and the colour cooked yam flour (Amala). Some can be extremely black, dark, deep brown or light brown, we at Foodstuffz have chosen a premium quality yam that give you a light brown colour.
We source our raw materials from farmers who practice organic farming hence our produce is 100% organic.
(How to prepare Amala)
Ingredients
2.5 cups of yam flour (250g)
5 cups of water (1 litre)
1 cup (200g) of hot water reserved
Direction for use (How to prepare Amala)
1. Boil water in a pot and heat to boiling a boiling point.(till it starts making bubbles)
2. Lower the heat to a bare minimum
3. Add the yam flour into the water all at once then stir/turn with wooden spoon or spatula till it comes together
Note.It won’t be smooth at this stage. This process takes about a minute.
4. Add the reserved 1 cup of water to the Amala using the wooden spoon to create hollow hole in the middle and sides and leave the water to steam the amala for about 5 minutes under low heat.
5. Now stir the amala for 1-2 minutes till smooth. After this time some put it down and turn.
Your Amala is ready to be eaten with you desired soup
